La Caille Estate
I think the light fallling across this beautiful dress is amazing. The coolest thing is that I used lighting equipment to bring out the beautiful ruffles in the dress. The directionality of the light really brings out the highlights and detail of this exquisite bridal gown.
The La Caille Estate is stunningly beautiful. There are so many picturesque spots here it truly is a photographer's dream location. And the fun thing is, I love the challenge of finding the perfect spot at your venue to capture you most beautifully. It's important to find a photographer with the experience and equipment to consistently produce great results. Really, Rexburg, Rigby, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, Pocatello, Wyoming, or Utah have stunningly beautiful back drops for your wedding imagery. I've spent most of my life here, and this area really is a treasure.
La Caille Estate
The twenty acre La Caille Estate is the stuff storybook legends are made of. It still retains its rustic country French charm accented with stunning gardens, ponds, and peacocks. It was so enjoyable to photograph there along the brick pathways or in the arboretum. It's the absolute best background for a dream wedding. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Beautifully Caped Winter Escape
Winter in Eastern Idaho can sometimes seem long, cold, and foreboding, but I find there really is beauty all around us, and that beauty truly is magical. Variation in the seasons makes us appreciate each one for its uniqueness and contrast. The deep snows of winter make a magnificent backdrop as it does here. Sure it was cold, and the snow deep, but what a winter wonderland! This was not far from the Rexburg Idaho area, and as a photograher I really basked in the light.
Sunshine and Sunset
I really love this image because the whole frame seems infused with light. The sun really is a bringer of light, life, warmth, and strength. It gives us hope, we can count on it day to day, and helps us see everything more clearly. I love light, it's ability to tell a story, portray a mood, even describe our feelings. I really enjoy also creating the light, shaping the light to tell your story, describe your personality, complement you completely. I love photographing here in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with real beauty all around if you just look for it. It is so enjoyable to see, capture, and remember these treasures.
Light Sun Shining Brightly
I was able to serve as a second photographer for this gorgous couple, Bryce and Jordan, at the Draper, Utah temple. It is the most wonderful thing to do your best to capture this amazing love that just shines out and all around this couple. This is genuine, meaningful affection that is most precious. They really enjoyed just being together, holding hands, close enough to be warmed by each other's laughter and affection.
Her Beautiful Face
A really enjoyable thing about being creative in photography is to be able to place emphasis where you feel it belongs. Sometimes that emphasis is someones face, in black and white, showing tonality and contrast to emphasize the beauty there. I've studied artistic masters, and they use techniques to draw your eye to those parts of the frame they most wish you to focus on. Your eye is automatically drawn to the lightest part of the image, as does detail, contrast, and placement within the frame. I love this image because nothing distracts you from her beauty. Simplicity really does complement her.
Shining Brightly in the Rain
This was a most interesting experience photographically speaking. It had been drizzling all morning. You'd think horrible conditions to capture formals and bridals, right? It was actually amazing. You can capture stunning images during turbulent, stormy, overcast weather. These lovebirds were undaunted by the rain and allowed me to capture some beautiful images, color literally saturating them and this idyllic orchard where they were photographed. The rain really made the grass and trees look richer, fuller. And it's always wonderful to capture these wonderful expressions of love and affection evident between them. So when things get dark and dreary, grab your umbrella and create your own little adventure. I was glad I did.
